Replacement of brake linings

Brake drums are applied to the rear axle of the vehicle, and one of the key elements of the vehicle stopping system are the brake linings. They are applied to both the main and parking brakes, so it is very important that you change them regularly so that the entire system is technically correct and in operation. A malfunctioning parking brake or uneven distribution of braking power on the rear axle means that the rear part of the braking system needs to be inspected. Brake linings and drums are not exposed to as much stress as discs and pads, and are changed only after approx. 100 thousand kilometers.

Autoservis24 recommends

If your hands have never been dirty with oil and similar substances that can be found on every car, it is best to leave the whole job to a professional. Also, you should know that brake pads are changed in pairs, so either both front or both rear or all four, so if you have decided to change them even though you have never done it before (and this one of ours should definitely help you little tutorial!), be sure to disassemble only one wheel first. Namely, if something goes wrong on one wheel, you will have a 'gap' on the other that you can follow and according to which you can put things back in place.
